Flood situation is still critical in some districts in Assam
as the Brahmaputra River overflowing in several districts. Flood in Assam is one
of the biggest problems here, due to heavy rainfall in the months of June-July flood
in Assam occurs and many villages affected and hectares of agricultural land destroyed.
People also lost their lives and properties, people who live in the banks of
the rivers are affected most. As-of-now
more than 15 lakhs of people get affected due to flood this year, not only
people are affected but also animals in Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora
Wildlife Sanctuary affected most where many animals moved on to Karbi Hills and
higher places to save their lives. Many roads were washed away cutting all
links to other parts of the state. Though some actions are taken but people
require more assistance and relief materials for the flood-affected people.
